Armor (studded leather), artifact (requires attunement)

Armour of the Architect, passed down by the Gate family. Initially created to protect the wearer in construction-zones, the scion of the family augmented it to withstand even the largest explosions. However, in order function this way, the suit is heavily pressurized and will impose decompression sickness on the wearer.

After the armour is used to negate any explosive damage, the wearer must make a decompression sickness check (d20). Should the check fail, the user gets one point of madness. On the first check, the DC is 1. If the wearer succeeds, the next check is DC 2 and so on. On a failed check, the counter does not reset. Decompression sickness is relieved after a long rest.

3 Charges (resets on long rest):

Explosive Contact: If the wearer is hit by any melee attack, the wear may cast Explosive Contact as a reaction. The target must make a Dexterity saving throw. It takes 7d6 fire/force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. If the target's hit points are reduced to 0, the target is exploded to bits and pieces.

Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.
