This item appears as a large dragonfly encased in a golden amber.
When attuning to this item, it will be absorbed by the creature attuning to it over the course of an hour. Once attuned, the creature will grow a set of four wings composed of intricately structured membrane that possess a vibrant, iridescent shade of green. These wings will grant the creature a flying speed of 40 feet and the ability to hover so long as their back is not obstructed. Due to the symbiotic nature, the wings will require the creature to double their caloric intake to sustain the energy it requires to use the wings. If this caloric intake is not met, once per day in the morning, the wings will sap nutrients from their blood, causing the creature to lose 3d8 HP, this damage being unable to reduced in any way. If at anytime the creature would be reduced to less than 15% of their maximum health, the creature must succeed on a DC16 Charisma Saving Throw or blackout, entering a berserk state until they are healed above 15% of their maximum health, or they consume something or someone as the survival instinct of the dragonfly takes over.
Symbiotic Nature. These wings can’t be removed from you while you’re attuned to them, and you can’t voluntarily end your attunement to them. If you’re targeted by a spell that ends a curse, your attunement to the amber ends and it exits your body via the mouth.
