This spherical stone is ancient and yet untouched by the elements. Its sandstone surface is covered in elaborate primordial runes chiseled to bind a powerful enchantment that has been lost to the weave of time. The artifact fills a single hand and is lighter than you might expect a solid stone sphere to be.
You can use an action to speak the artifact's command word, throwing it at a Large or smaller Monstrosity that you can see within 30 feet of you. The target must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be trapped in the artifact. Its body is consumed by a golden light before being sucked within the confines of the sphere. If the target has been trapped by the artifact before, it has advantage on the saving throw. Once trapped, a Monstrosity remains in the artifact frozen in time until released. The artifact can hold only one Monstrosity at a time. A Monstrosity trapped in the artifact doesn't need to breathe, eat, or drink and doesn't age. A Monstrosity friendly towards you may choose to fail the Wisdom saving throw, passing seamlessly into the artifact.
You can use an action to throw the artifact at spot you can see within 30 feet and release the Monstrosity that the artifact contains. Whatever its normal disposition and alignment, the Monstrosity is friendly to you and your companions for 1 hour and obeys your commands for that duration. If you give no commands or give it a command that is likely to result in its death, it defends itself but otherwise takes no actions. At the end of the duration, the creature acts in accordance with its normal disposition and alignment. A creature that is friendly to you is unaffected by the artifact's charming influence.
