Curse of the Serpent's Embrace
This ancient serpent scale armor, forged in the forgotten depths of a temple dedicated to a serpentine deity, is a masterpiece of craftsmanship and dark enchantment. Upon first glance, it seems to shimmer with a captivating allure, each scale reflecting light with a mesmerizing, hypnotic pattern. To the wearer, it offers gifts of extraordinary power, but these come at a grave cost, for the armor is bound by a potent curse.
Benefits:
- Enhanced Reflexes: The wearer's agility and reaction times are significantly increased, granting them a +2 bonus to AC (Armor Class) and advantage on Dexterity saving throws.
- Venomous Retribution: Once per long rest, the wearer can retaliate against a melee attacker by casting the spell Poison Spray.
- Serpentine Persuasion: The wearer gains advantage on Charisma (Persuasion) checks when interacting with serpentine creatures or those influenced by snake deities.
Curse:
- Serpent's Whisper: The armor binds itself to the wearer, fusing with their very being. They begin to exhibit serpentine traits, both in appearance and behavior. Their eyes might narrow and gain a reptilian slit, their skin may adopt a subtle scale-like texture, and their tongue could fork, betraying their humanity.
- Cold Blood: The wearer's body gradually adapts to a more serpentine nature, causing them to seek warmth constantly. They suffer disadvantage on all Constitution saving throws made to resist cold environments or effects.
- Isolation: As the curse progresses, the wearer's mind becomes increasingly aligned with serpentine instincts. They struggle to empathize with non-serpentine creatures, suffering disadvantage on Charisma (Empathy) checks and slowly becoming isolated from their companions.
- Eternal Bond: Removing the armor becomes impossible without a Remove Curse spell or similar magic. If the wearer attempts to remove it without such means, they suffer excruciating pain and are dealt significant necrotic damage.
This armor consists of a coat and leggings (and perhaps a separate skirt) of leather covered with overlapping pieces of metal, much like the scales of a fish. The suit includes gauntlets.
