Ring, legendary

Origins

Arkasha, the Demigod of Dimensions, handcrafted this ring. It is said that the wearer of this ring will know great strife in battle but will know the true meaning of patience once its power is released. It's unknown how many people have worn this ring; it's said that every time it breaks, Arkasha fixes it and sends it back into the world.

Charge

The ring has an empty hole where a standard gem or crystal would be. Whenever the wearer becomes more proficient with their class (they gain a level),  so to does the ring. A small diamond worth 300 GP forms in the socket of the ring, and the clarity of the ring develops the longer the wielder advances while wearing it. The diamond within the ring's socket reaches its pinnacle of clarity once the wielder has advanced nine levels while wearing it. The ring does not benefit from having multiple wearers advance with it.

The charge is already expended whenever the ring is found by someone new. With a charge in the ring, the wielder can activate one of the following abilities. Once the charge has been used, roll a d20. The ring shatters on a 1, 5, 10 or 15. On anything else, the charge recharges after the next dawn. As it shatters, the fragments conjure a small portal into which all the pieces fall. The portal then closes. If the ring shatters in an interdimensional space such as a Bag of Holding or Portable Hole, both items are instantly destroyed, and a gate to the Astral Plane opens. The gate originates where both items were destroyed. Any creature within 10 feet of the gate is sucked through it to a random location on the Astral Plane. The gate then closes. The gate is one-way only and can’t be reopened.

Arkasha's Will

As an action, the wearer can recite the prayer of Arkasha to teleport themselves and up to six other creatures within 60 ft to any person or location they can identify by name. If multiple people or places have the same name, the effect fails unless the user can picture the desired person or place in mind. The charge is not consumed if the teleport fails. The ring bypasses warding effects such as the Forbiddance spell or an Antimagic Field.

Arkasha's Power

The wearer can expend the charge to cast a spell equal to the level of the ring. The spell can be from any spell list, provided the wearer knows the name of the spell. The wearer can choose any ability score as the spell-casting modifier for the spell's requirements. If the wearer's ability score is lower, the ring has a minimum spell save DC of 19 and a +11 to hit.

Arkasha's Wrath

As an action, the wearer summons the spiritual avatar of Arkasha, who unleashes a bolt of arcane energy towards a foe within 120 ft of the ring's wearer. Force damage equal to the ring's level multiplied by the wearer's level is dealt to the target, which ignores resistances and immunities to force. The wearer can also choose to split the bolt to target an additional creature. For every target beyond the first, the damage of the arcane bolt is divided evenly and rounded down. If a creature is reduced to zero hit points by these arcane bolts, they are instead reduced to 1 hit point and banished to a random plane of existence. The creature remains banished this way for 1d100 years. A Wish can reduce the duration of this banishment by ten years, however doing so causes the creature banished to age this many years also. Creatures that attempt to leave through interdimensional magics such as Plane Shift are marked for death by Arkasha, Demigod of Dimensions.
