Like many magical staves, the Staff of Resonance was crafted by scholars of Clifton College. While investigating the effects of sound waves and vibrations and the relationship with the arcane, researchers found a direct correlation between the sound waves emitted in certain evocation spells and the elemental damage type produced. After many failed experiments attempting to control precisely what damage would be produced, they settled for a staff that would normalize the waves of the spells, manipulating all to sound.
Enhanced Casting (Passive). The staff grants a +1 bonus to spell attack rolls made by the wielder.
Thunder Conversion (Passive). While attuned to this staff, any damaging spell cast by the wielder is transformed into thunder damage. This alteration does not change the spell's other effects.
Amplified Sound (Passive). Any thunder damage spell cast through the staff gains an additional damage die, of the same type already used by the spell.
Resonant Shove (1/Long Rest). Once per long rest, the wielder can activate the staff to unleash a burst of sonic energy in a 10-foot radius around themselves. Creatures within this area must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be pushed 10 feet away from the caster and knocked prone.
