Scroll, uncommon

A spell scroll bears the words of a single spell, written in a mystical cipher. Somehow, anyone is able to read it, whether they know how to cast spells (or, even, read at all) or not. However, it cannot be copied (again, with no decipherable reason why) or its contents learned.

This scroll grants its owner the ability to cast Fireball. Once it is used, the scroll will burn up, completely destroying itself.

Fireball

  • Casting Time: 1 action
  • Range: 150 feet
  • Components: Somehow, none, just this scroll
  • Duration: Instantaneous
  • Classes: Somehow, all of them
  • Description: A bright streak flashes from your pointing finger to a point you choose within range and then blossoms with a low roar into an explosion of flame. Each creature in a 20-foot-radius sphere centered on that point must make a Dexterity saving throw (with a DC of 15). A target takes 8d6 fire damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The fire spreads around corners. It ignites flammable objects in the area that aren’t being worn or carried.
