Having the appearance of coral, this substance is actually a mass created in the stomach of a Morkoth. The Morkoth's digestive system secretes a type of bile that binds to sharp objects in order to ease their passing through the body of the Morkoth. Occasionally, clumps of the mass can be found floating in the ocean or washing up on shore.
Like whale ambergris, the substance has a pleasant odor and often makes its way into people's homes as it is mistaken for a unique type of aromatic coral.
If a creature spends one hour straight in the presence of the ambergris, they will be cursed. For 7 days they will have +5 to all persuasion checks, but they will begin to transform into a Sea Spawn. If they are unable to remove the curse within 30 days, they will fully transform into a Sea Spawn and be compelled to travel to the Morkoth's island in the sea. There is no way to undo this transformation and it only ends when the creature dies.
