Weapon (shortsword), legendary (requires attunement)

Aquila, also known as Quicksilver, is a legendary weapon gifted to the champion of Iroas. The blade is made of silver and seems to ripple and flow, emitting a soft silver glow. The blade is an extremely versatile weapon, designed for fighting at various ranges. The blade can be elongated or shortened at will.

You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.

Hurricane of Steel. As an action you can cast Steel Wind Strike (at 5th Level). This ability can be used once per long rest.

Mercurial Form. As a bonus action, you can command the blade to change into a different form. Each form has unique properties.

Forms:

1. Shortsword - whilst in this form, if you use the attack action to make an attack with the blade, you can make an additional attack with the blade as part of that attack action.

2. Longsword - whilst in this form, the blade deals an additional 2d6 slashing damage.

3. Chainsword (Whip) - whilst in this form, the blade has a reach of 15ft. When you hit an enemy with an attack, if they are a medium or smaller creature you can use your reaction to immediately pull them 15ft closer to you. If they are a large or larger creature, you can use your reaction to pull yourself 15ft closer to them.

Higher Tiers

If you are a follower of Iroas, higher tiers can be unlocked by completing tasks for Iroas or gaining his favour in other ways. Higher tiers grant higher attack bonuses, more additional damage and more powerful spells with higher save DCs.

Penalties

If you aren’t a worshiper of Iroas, the blade has the following major detrimental properties:

  • While attuned to this weapon, the blade's edge becomes blunt and dulled. It only does 1d4 bludgeoning damage and is not considered a magical weapon.
  • While attuned to this weapon, you become vulnerable to slashing and piercing.
  • Iroas will send agents to retrieve his blade from you.

Proficiency with a Shortsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Finesse, Light, Vex
