You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.
As the entity, known only as the Weeping Widow, wept over the souls lost to eternity, the essence of her tears were collected to create tools for her following. This dark weapon grants as much as it takes away. Her tears shed for those lost empowers the wielder, yet their grief weakens him/her as well. The sword weighs greatly on the the physical being of the wielder, and depletes their physical strength (-2 Strength), on the same vein it also emboldens them to persevere through the feelings of loss and grief granting proficiency in Constitution saves. Her lingering presence in the weapon also assists the wielder to reveal the true intentions of others by granting advantage to Insight checks.
The cold touch of the Weeping Widow is felt through the edge of the blade as it deals an additional 2d8 (cold) damage on every successful melee weapon attack. In addition, the wielder feels her presence wash over as a protective barrier, providing resistance against the same cold and necrotic she emanates.
Attuning the weapon to the wielder also grants access to two cantrips, Chill Touch and Spare the Dying. Access to this magic assists the wielder in weighing the balance on the saving or release of souls to the afterlife.
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
