The wielder has a permanent 1d4 bonus to attack rolls and saving throws.
Additionally, once per Short Rest, you may use either of the following abilities:
Sing. Alath'Var sings a song of victory, bolstering you and your nearby allies. As a bonus action, you may grant yourself (the attuned creature keeps this ability permanently) and any allies that can hear you within 30 feet a 1d4 bonus to attack rolls and saving throws.
Shriek. The sword screams in its rage and battles against the Dreaming Dark. Any enemy creatures that can hear Alath'Var within 15 feet gain a 1d4 penalty on all attack rolls and saving throws. Creatures affected by Shriek also take an additional 1d4 thunder damage from the wielder of Alath'Var until they leave the range, or the effect is willingly ended by the attuned creature.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
