Bloodthirsty Strikes. The tattoo has a number of charges equal to your number of hit die remaining.

When you hit a creature with a melee or unarmed attack, you can expend a number of charges up to your proficiency bonus to deal an extra xd12 necrotic damage to the target, and you regain a number of hit points equal to the necrotic damage dealt. Each use of a charge in this way expends a hit die.
