Weapon (longsword), legendary (requires attunement)

This curved sickle shaped sword has an obsidian blade with tiny fissures that radiate with magical fire. The sword contains the power and rage of the ancient primordial Maegera. Despite its size the weapon appears quite light and balanced similar to that of a scimitar, and has the finesse property. If you are proficient with scimitars or longswords you are proficient with Ash.

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. It has the following additional properties.

Primordial's Touch

While you hold the weapon, you have resistance to fire. In addition, you can read, speak, and write Ignan.

Burning Rage

You can use a bonus action to speak this magic sword's command word ("Maegera"), causing flames to erupt from the blade. These flames shed bright light in a 40-foot radius and dim light for an additional 40 feet. While the sword is ablaze, it deals an extra 2d6 fire damage to any target it hits. The flames last until you use a bonus action to speak the command word again or until you drop or sheathe the sword.

You can use an action to cast the Fire Shield spell. When you cast this spell, only the warm shield can be selected. This property can't be used again until the next dawn.

Sentience

Ash is a sentient chaotic neutral weapon with an Intelligence of 14, a Wisdom of 14, and a Charisma of 19. It has hearing and dark-vision out to a range of 120 feet.

The weapon communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand Common, Dwarvish, and Ignan. Its voice is feminine and echoes with rage.

Personality

Ash was forged in Gauntlgrym by melting several magical items in the flames of the primordial Maegera, the Dawn Titan and setting the melted metal into a mold. The rage of Maegera is captured within the weapon, and it wants to consume things in fiery rage. It particularly enjoys consuming creatures that inhabit the "lesser" elemental planes of Air, Earth, or Water.

Ash's hunger to consume something in flames must be regularly fed. If the weapon goes five days or more without consuming something organic in flames, a conflict between it and its wielder occurs at the next sunset. Consuming an elemental from the planes of air, earth, or water will sate the weapon for a ten-day.

Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
