The colt m1911 is a fire arm chambered in .45 ACP (Auto Colt pistol). this weapon was made by a god of weapon craft to bestow his power to the worthy, and righteous. this pistol from old eras bygone still has faint hints of this gods power, felt only by those who still believe in John Mosses Browning, the father of gun craft.

this firearm has bonus damage to the undead (9mm kills the body but .45 kills the soul) and thus is more effective against: zombies, wraiths, demons, fiends, and liches.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
