The Amulet of Rats appears as a small circular pendant made of tarnished silver, while the center of the amulet holds a carved image of a rat with its fangs bared and eyes that seem to follow nearby movement. The amulet emits a faint squeaking sound whenever the wearer is in dim light, and a musky scent of a rat's nest wafts from it.
While wearing this amulet, you can speak the command word "Fa'ar" as an action to call forth a Swarm of Rats. The Swarm of Rats appear in an unoccupied space you choose within 120 feet of you. It remains as long as you concentrate (as if concentrating on a spell), to a maximum of 1 hour, or until it drops to 0 hit points. The Swarm of Rats will then disperse.
While summoned, the Swarm of Rats is friendly to you and your companions. As an action, It will obey any simple commands you give it, no matter what language you use. If you fail to command it, the Swarm of Rats will defend itself against attackers but takes no other actions.
