his amulet is fashioned from a black opal encased in twisted silver, constantly shifting and seeming to absorb light around it. Whispering voices, too low to make out, can be heard by those holding it. Given by a warlock's patron of madness, it carries both a boon and a bane. The amulet's surface is cool to the touch, but it pulses with a strange warmth when danger is near.
- Psychic Resonance: While attuned to the Amulet of the Whispering Void, the wearer can read and speak Olman, a language used by the people of a lost civilization .
- Veil of Madness: Once per day, as an action, each player that is attuned to this item can activate the amulet to cast the Confusion spell (save DC 15) centered on themselves without using a spell slot. The effect radiates from the amulet in a 20-foot radius, potentially affecting enemies but also risking the sanity of the party. Allies within the radius can attempt a Wisdom saving throw at the beginning of their turns, with a success ending the effect on themselves.
- Blessing of the Abyss: Once per long rest, the wearer can invoke the patron's favor to gain advantage on all saving throws for 1 minute. However, after using this ability, the wearer suffers from short-term madness for the same duration once the advantage ends.
Side Effects: Each use of the amulet's powers deepens the connection to the patron of madness. After each use, the wearer must succeed on a DC 15 Wisdom saving throw or be affected by a random short-term madness effect. The severity and duration of these effects can increase with frequent use of the amulet, at the DM's discretion.
