Artisan's Protectorate

The Artisan's Protectorate is a shield of meticulous design, created by an artificer with a keen eye for both defence and support. Crafted from sturdy materials and adorned with intricate gears and mechanisms, this shield is as much a tool of protection as it is a symbol of ingenuity.

Features:

• Fragmentary Deployment: As a reaction when an ally within 30 feet is targeted by an attack, the wielder of the Artisan's Protectorate can activate its unique mechanism. Fragments of the shield detach and launch towards the targeted ally, forming a protective barrier. This barrier grants the ally a +2 bonus to their AC until the start of the wielder's next turn.
• Swift Deployment: Once per short rest, the wielder can use an action to deploy all of the shield fragments. These fragments hover around the wielder and their allies, providing temporary cover. Until the start of the wielder's next turn, all creatures within 30 feet gain a +2 bonus to their AC.

Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
