Background: This ancient amulet is made of gold, with a blood red gem in the middle, the amulet is shaped like a star. The chain is silver and gold braided together. Created in a time of Blood Magic...the amulet is designed to allow a spellcaster to sacrifice health to cast spells without using spell slots 1st-3rd level. The amulet recognizes your sacrifice, and boosts your ability to hit targets with your spells. Your ranged spell attacks and Save DC both increase +1.
With power comes sacrifice. Each time you use this amulet to cast a spell without a spellslot, that is 1st-3rd level, you will take damage associated with each spell slot. This damage cannot be reduced in anyway. This damage will come off of your actual HP, and not any temporary HP you may have.
