Arcreaver is a magical +2 greataxe, and has the following properties:
- Lightning Infusion: Arcreaver deals damage as lightning instead of slashing.
- Conductive Grip: The wielder of Arcreaver becomes attuned to the flow of electricity, gaining resistance to lightning damage while wielding the weapon.
- Arcane Empowerment: Once per long rest, the wielder can channel their arcane energy into Arcreaver, empowering it with additional magical properties for 1 minute. During this time, the greataxe's bonus to attack and damage rolls increases to +3, and its lightning damage increases by 1d6 on a successful hit.
- Storm's Fury: When the wielder rolls a critical hit with Arcreaver, the target must make a DC 15 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone from the force of the blow.
- Lightning Rod: As a bonus action, the wielder can command Arcreaver to release a surge of lightning energy in a 15-foot radius centered on themselves. All creatures within the radius must make a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw, taking 2d8 lightning damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. This ability can be used once per short rest.
Arcreaver is a formidable greataxe of legendary repute, renowned for its fearsome appearance and devastating power. Its blade, forged from an otherworldly metal, shimmers with an ominous red hue, crackling with arcane lightning that dances along its edges. Each swing of Arcreaver leaves trails of crimson sparks in its wake, a testament to the weapon's supernatural potency. The handle of Arcreaver is crafted from the finest darkwood, polished to a smooth finish and adorned with ancient runes that pulse with arcane energy. These runes, imbued with the secrets of the arcane, grant the wielder enhanced control over the weapon's power and serve as a conduit for its lightning-infused strikes.
Proficiency with a Greataxe allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Cleave. If you hit a creature with a melee attack roll using this weapon, you can make a melee attack roll with the weapon against a second creature within 5 feet of the first that is also within your reach. On a hit, the second creature takes the weapon’s damage, but don’t add your ability modifier to that damage unless that modifier is negative. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
Notes: Replace Damage Type: Lightning, Bonus: Magic, Heavy, Two-Handed, Cleave
