While holding this shield, you have a +2 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.
A shield that holds the power of the molten king of Tezlimoc. the master smith Pad'ma Pascal has taken the skull of the great beast and crafted a masterpiece. Splitting the skull in two and infusing it with the power from her magic forge she has created a shield to protect and attack in the same swipe.
As an action you may expend a charge and slam this shield into the ground and cause an eruption of magma around the user. in a 10 ft radius around the wielder the ground becomes difficult terrain. Any creature with in the 10 ft radius of the impact must make a dc14 dex save or take 4d6 fire damage and knocked prone, half the damage and stays standing on a successful save. Any creature flying and the wielder of the aegis are immune to this effect.
Any creature that begins its turn in the magma ring must remake the dc14 dex save of take 4d6 fire damage half on a successful save.
At the end of the wielders turn after using the impact action, the magma solidifies into an area of sharp volcanic glass. The glass is difficult terrain and any creature that enters the area or starts their turn in the glass must make a dc16 dex save or take 4d6 slashing damage. Flying creatures are immune to this effect while they are flying.
In addition to regaining a charge at dawn the aegis may absorb the magical fire of an fire spell that hits the wielder of the Aegis of the Tyrant King. the wielder will still take the damage from the spell.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
