An ancient envelope perhaps as old as the invention of parchment adorns itself in the finery of time. Bearing smudges from an inestimable number of fingers of every variety--dirt, grease, other substances one dare not mention in polite company--it's color now a dingy tan where once it had been pristine white. In a corner of the envelope is a small fading stamp of an unknown ruler. Beneath this depiction the word "Forever" is inscribed in whatever primary language in which the holder is literate. If the holder is illiterate, they see a sun with a smiley face.
This envelope is part of a matched set. Letters placed within the envelope are sent instantaneously to the other envelope in the matched set. Upon receipt of a new letter, the envelope will let out a chime that can be heard from anyone in a 15 foot radius, along with the phrase "You've got mail." Persons outside of the radius hear nothing.
While this item is waterproof, it is otherwise subject to destruction by mundane means.
