This concoction is bright orange and opaque. It glitters and sparkles in direct sunlight, and has an oily consistency. It smells astringent when in its liquid form, but takes on the flavor of any other substance it comes into contact with, fooling even the most seasoned of palates.
If you drink it, you take 6d6 poison damage, and you must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned. At the start of each of your turns while you are poisoned in this way, you take 4d6 poison damage. At the end of each of your turns, you can repeat the saving throw. On a successful save, the poison damage you take on your subsequent turns decreases by 1d6. The poison ends when the damage decreases to 0.
When this poison is applied to an object (such as a dart or sword), its effects are lessened. A target struck with an object coated with this poison suffers 3d6 poison damage and must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or be poisoned. At the start of each of your turns while you are poisoned in this way, you take 2d6 poison damage. At the end of each of your turns, you can repeat the saving throw. On a successful save, the poison damage you take on your subsequent turns decreases by 1d6. The poison ends when the damage decreases to 0.
Additionally, on a failed save against the poison's effects, you suffer dizzying effects that cause you to have disadvantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Intelligence (Investigation) checks. Your passive Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Insight) scores decrease by 5. This effect ends after 1 hour or when a lesser restoration or similar spell is cast upon you.
Suffering the effects of this poison once and surviving cause you to build a slight resistance to it. Your saving throw DC decreases by 1 with each ingestion of this poison, to a minimum DC of 5.
Creatures that have resistance to poison damage still suffer the hallucinatory effects of this poison if they fail the saving throw.
