While holding this shield, you have a +3 bonus to AC. This bonus is in addition to the shield's normal bonus to AC.
This ancient shield bears the marks and sigils of a long-forgotten order of paladins, sworn enemies of Lolth and her followers. The shield is large and crafted from a mysterious, indestructible alloy, its surface reflecting light with an almost ethereal quality. History: The Aegis of the Fallen Hero belonged to Sir Aldan Vraith, a legendary paladin renowned for his crusades against the forces of darkness. Sir Aldan ventured into the depths of the Underdark to confront Lolth herself and never returned. His fate remains a mystery, with only his shield found amidst the bones of countless fallen foes and allies.

Divine Protection: Once per long rest, the bearer can activate the shield to create a barrier of holy light, granting immunity to damage from spells and attacks for two rounds

Banish Darkness: The shield emits a permanent aura of sacred light in a small radius, which acts as daylight and is particularly harmful to creatures of darkness, such as drow and their demonic allies.

Heroic Resolve: Once per long rest, the wielder can channel the will of Sir Aldan, gaining advantage on all saving throws, attack rolls, and skill checks for one minute.

Legacy of Vraith: Any undead or fiend that strikes the bearer with a melee attack takes radiant damage reflective of 1/2 the strike's force rounded down.
Curse: The shield is bound to its bearer until death. If the bearer ever acts in a way that is cowardly or betrays the cause of fighting evil, they suffer disadvantage to their abilities until they atone.
Shields require the Utilize action to Don or Doff. You gain the Armor Class benefit of a Shield only if you have training with it.
