These special tools include two glass beakers that can hold up to 2 vials of liquid each, a metal frame to hold a beaker in place over an open flame, a glass stirring rod, a small mortar and pestle, and a pouch containing 4 uses of common alchemical ingredients, including salt, powdered iron, and purified water.

If you don't have empty vials to transfer potion mixtures to, you can hold them in the beakers, but lose the use of those beakers until the liquid is removed. Vials and Beakers can be bought from associated merchants. You can also craft them using Glassblower's Tools. 

Once used, Alchemist Ingredients can be restocked associated merchants or naturally gathered. Naturally gathering Purified Water is made from water using Brewer's Tools.
