Archmage's Gaze

"Let this be my gift to you, O love of mine, so that we can always see the fullness of the art we share."

As apart of attuning to this item, you can affix it to your eye. At the end of the attunement process, it subsumes your eye, replacing it.

Arcanite's Study. If you are a wizard, you can prepare an additional amount of spells equal to your proficiency bonus. If you aren't a wizard, but have the Spellcasting or Pact Magic feature, you can prepare a number of wizard spells equal to your intelligence modifier. In addition, you have advantage on checks made to identify spells.

Millennial Repository. As an action, you can enter a trance, and scour the archive of knowledge hidden within the eye. While within this trance, you are blinded and deafened in regards to your own senses, and are considered incapacitated. For each ten minutes spent in this trance, you can consult one topic as if by the Legend Lore Spell, lacking the restriction on legendary importance. However, the eye is only aware of topics and ideas that existed at the time of it's creation. You can spend the same duration depositing the information about a topic into the eye, to allow it to be referenced by the spell in the future.

Magical Mastery. When you finish a long rest, you can choose one Metamagic option (See Sorcerer). You can utilize the chosen option on your spells once per day.

Twinned Design. Archmage's Gaze was designed with a sister item in mind, the Spellshard Eye. While attuned to both items, the bonus to arcana checks from the Spellshard's Eye increases to 1d6, and you can use Arcanite Gaze a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus. In addition, you can prepare a number of spells from Arcanite's Study equal to your proficiency bonus, and the time it takes to use Millennial Repository  is halved. Finally, Magical Mastery can be used to select three Metamagic options, instead of one.
