This javelin is a magic weapon. The head of the javelin contains a reservoir, which can be filled with a dose of contact or inhaled poison, or with lamp oil. When you hurl it and speak its command word, make a normal attack roll with the javelin. If the attack roll hits, the javelin does normal damage, and will disperse the payload loaded into its head in a 10 foot radius burst when it impacts its target. If the attack roll misses, the contents of the javelin are not expended.
If filled with poison, each creature exposed must save against the poison used, as if exposed normally.
If filled with lamp oil, the cloud of aerosolized oil is ignited by the javelin. All creatures within the cloud (10 foot radius) must make a DC 13 Dex save or take 2d6 fire damage; successful saves take half damage.
Once used, the javelin must be refilled to be used again, and even if refilled, the javelin's property can't be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon.
Proficiency with a Javelin allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
