Wondrous Item, artifact (requires attunement by a )

This mysterious artifact emanates magical energy of an unknown school.

Its shape is intricate and seemingly geometrically impossible, as though the object was never meant to exist within normal space. The surfaces are perfectly jet black, while thin copper-colored lines trace every edge and intersection across its form.

Despite its apparent size, the artifact feels strangely weightless.

A creature attuned to the Artifact of Netheril may spend 1 minute concentrating to teleport inside the artifact, along with willing creatures within 10 feet.

The interior is an extradimensional chamber completely isolated from the outside world. No external magic, sound, or effect can enter.

The chamber contains no visible light source, yet all creatures and objects are evenly illuminated from every direction. Shadows do not exist here.

The room itself appears larger on the inside than should be possible.

At the center of the chamber stands a pedestal of polished black obsidian. The artifact hovers silently above it.

Four empty recesses are carved into the pedestal, each shaped for an unknown purpose.

A creature touching the pedestal is immediately transported outside the artifact.

While attuned to the artifact, creatures occasionally experience fragmented dreams and memories that do not belong to them.

Attuning to the Artifact of Netheril gives the following benfits:

- Able to cast Void step as a bonus action, teleporting the wielder 30ft to an unoccupied space. This may be cast once per long rest.
