Amulet of the Phoenix

This ornate amulet of ruby and silver appears to have a flame darting around within it.

While wearing this amulet, the first time you would drop to 0 hit points as a result of taking damage, you instead drop to 1 hit point, and the amulet shatters in your stead.

Alternatively, if your are wearing the amulet when you are subjected to an effect that would kill you instantaneously without dealing damage, that effect is negated, and the amulet shatters in your stead.

Once the amulet has shattered, it slowly rebuilds itself out of ash over the course of 1d4 days, after which its properties can be used again. If you die while wearing this amulet, it shatters and remains shattered.
