The Arrester's Edge was commissioned by Officer-Arrester Valen Estova Risa of the Azorius Senate for use in extended combat scenarios while apprehending criminals. A fine steel blade with an ivory hilt and royal blue quillon, this sword is standard in size and shape, with no further adornment, save for a small Azorius Insignia engraved on the pommel.
You gain a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. The first time you attack with the sword on each of your turns, you can transfer some or all of the sword's bonus to your AC, instead of using the bonus on any attacks that turn. In addition, any Chaotic creature struck by Arrester's Edge takes an additional 1d6 Cold damage, and their movement speed is reduced by 10 for one round. Damage dealt to a humanoid by Arrester's Edge is considered non-lethal, and a humanoid target reduced to 0 or fewer hit points will be rendered unconscious (no death savings throws are required).
Finally, the Arrester's Edge scores a critical hit on a roll of 19 or 20. Upon striking a critical hit, the wielder restores up to one expended spell slot, up to 3rd level.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
