Arcane Scattergun

This heirloom firearm embodies the mastery of ranged devastation, a cherished relic passed down through generations of Infiltrators who embraced both arcane might and precision.

 Hit: +4 damage: 1d8+4 ranged piercing

 When you make an attack with the Arcan Scattergun you can choose to make a "heavy shot". In this mode you focus on a single target, you will hit for an additional 1d4 damage, both you and the target will get knocked back 5ft.

When you make an attack with the Arcane Scattergun, you can choose to make a "scattered shot." In this mode, you make an attack roll against all creatures in a 15-foot cone originating from you. Roll separate attack and damage rolls for each target.

Aegis Shot. Once per short rest, the Infiltrator can use a special Aegis Shot. This shot releases a protective arcane barrier upon impact, granting the Infiltrator temporary hit points equal to the damage dealt.

Arcane Precision. The Infiltrator, when holding the Arcane Scattergun, gains advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks and Dexterity saving throws to evade attacks.

Empowered Shot. Twice per short rest, the Infiltrator can choose to empower a shot with additional arcane energy. On a successful hit, the target gets knocked prone and back 10 ft. And takes an additional 2d6 force damage.

It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
