Weapon (club), legendary (requires attunement by a attunement by a Wizard)

This enchanted silver-plated tome has infinite pages and is indestructible. You can use this tome as a spellcasting focus, and you gain a +4 bonus to spell attack rolls and to the saving throw DCs of your spells. Furthermore, you can prepare additional spells equal to your Intelligence Modifier, and gain the following effects:

Polymorphic Form. While the Compendium's true form is of a large, ostentatiously grandiose tome, it can freely alter its size and appearance to your desire, anything from a pocket-size notebook or a leather bound journal to a papyrus scroll or a futuristic tablet. However, it can only take the form of a reading medium, and can't take the form of anything else, such as clothes, armour, and weapons, and must fit within one cubic foot with the size of the palm of your hand at its smallest.

Devoted Reader. This Compendium cannot be removed from you by any means (including teleportation or being unconscious) unless you will it, and will always return to you when desired. Even if the tome is not physically held in your hands, you can still use it, and it can levitate up and around you as you desire, allowing you to continue reading handsfree.

A Book is not a Weapon. Though, given it's heft and nature, it serves as a surprisingly effective club and shield. The tome functions as a +4 Club and provides a +4 bonus to your AC, as well as providing an advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects.

Lexiconicy. As an action, you may tear off the recorded spells from the Compendium, which you can then use as a spell scroll. Once the spell is cast, the words on the pages fade, and they crumble to dust. If the casting is interrupted or you decide not to cast it, the pages are not lost and can be fixed back into tome. Alternatively, you can instead convert the spell pages into magical energy to recover expended spell slots (e.g. Recovering eight levels worth of spell slots requires either an 8th-level spell or two 4th-level spells).

Once you expanded the pages to cast or for recovery, you are incapable of casting the lost spells for 7 days, even if you find them on a scroll or in another spellbook. After 7 days, the spells reappear in the Compendium.

Proficiency with a Club allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.

Notes: Bonus: Magic, Bonus: Armor Class, Bonus: Spell Attacks, Bonus: Spell Save DC, attunement by a Wizard, Light, Slow
