Weapon (scimitar), artifact (requires attunement by a non-warlock humanoid)

This ancient blade was once held by a dark sorceror of great power. After being sealed into the weapon by a heroic cleric, the sorceror still thirsts for the rush of battle and the copper tang of blood. He is drawn to those who might provide him the most opportunity to cut once again into living flesh, and forms with them a pact - sometimes even without their knowlege - granting magical powers in exchange for being brought into battle once more.

After attuning, the player makes a DC 16 WIS Saving Throw. If successful, they take one level in Warlock and can speak with the sorceror within the blade. On a fail, they still take the level in Warlock, but can not take more than one and are completely unaware of the sorceror and the pact. Any non-magic users are surprised by their sudden ability to instinctually cast spells. If the players Charisma Score is below thirteen, the blade makes up the difference by moving points from another ability score into Charisma. The effect can be reversed (and all Warlock levels lost) using a Remove Curse spell. Remove Curse is also the only way to break attunement.

If the player drops to 0 HP but is not killed outright, the sorceror takes advantage of their unconscious state to possess them. Once the body is stabilized or revived, the sorceror has full control of it until the next Long Rest or Knockout, while the player remains unconscious within. If the player failed their original WIS Saving Throw, they retain no knowledge of this possession.

Proficiency with a Scimitar allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.

This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Nick. When you make the extra attack of the Light property, you can make it as part of the Attack action instead of as a Bonus Action. You can make this extra attack only once per turn.
