This construct heart lies still in your hands, yet you can feel the power emanate from it to delay death.
With a DC 15 Medicine check and 1 hour, you can cut open a corpse, remove its heart, and install this prosthetic heart (this check is repeatable). Once installed, the next time the corpse sustains necrotic damage from any source, Tracky's Ever-beating Heart will cast the spell 'Resurrection' on the corpse and bring the subject back to life. Furthermore, if the spell 'Mending' is cast on a subject while Tracky's Ever-beating Heart is installed inside them, the subject heals for 2 HP (this effect can happen a number of times equal to the subject's character level per day). The subject's creature category does not change, but because their heart is now a construct they cannot benefit from the spell 'Spare the Dying'. If a corpse is cut open again using the same above check, the heart can be removed and installed into someone new. If a subject dies with Tracky's Ever-beating Heart installed inside of them, Tracky's Heart must be removed and manually reset by sprinkling any type of organic ash onto it which the device absorbs.
Note: 'Revivify' cannot revive a creature without a heart, but will revive a subject with Tracky's Ever-beating Heart installed inside of them. Only 'Resurrection' and 'True Resurrection' can replace missing organs - such as a heart. If a 'Regeneration' or 'Resurrection' spell is cast on a subject while Tracky's Ever-beating Heart is installed inside them, Tracky's heart is not replaced. If Resurrection is cast on a subject while Tracky's Ever-beating Heart is installed inside of them, the spell functions as normal and Tracky's heart resumes its functions. If 'True Resurrection' is cast on a corpse while Tracky's Ever-beating Heart is installed inside of it, Tracky's heart will be destroyed and a normal heart will replace it.
