Wondrous Item, very rare (requires attunement by a spellcasting class)

Once per day, you may describe or name an object that is familiar to you. When you do, the compass will start showing you the general direction to the object's location on its visor indefinitely. So long as the compass is tracking the object, you are unable to cast any spells other than cantrips. The range of tracking is limitless, yet the compass does not give you an indication of how far the object is away from you.

The compass can locate a specific object known to you, as long as you have seen it up close —within 10 feet— at least once. Alternatively, the compass can locate the nearest object of a particular kind, such as a certain kind of apparel, jewelry, furniture, mineral, tool, or weapon.

This spell can't locate or track an object if any thickness of lead, even a thin sheet, blocks a direct path between you and the object or when the object is more than 60 feet underground.

You may always use an action to make the compass stop tracking the object. When you do, the compass immediately consumes all your unused spell slots.
