This weapon seeks to destroy mages, and it resonates antimagic, an energy that seeks out and destroys magic. They come in grimoires that are formed when a powerful wizard dies in deep despair, and hatred fills their grimoire. While you are attuned to it, you cannot cast spells, but gain the following benefits while wielding it:
- When an attack made with this weapon causes a concentration save, the DC always equals the damage dealt, and the target always fails if the concentration save was induced by a critical hit.
- This weapon has 15 charges. As an action you can expend 8 charges to cast antimagic field, or spend 3 charges to cast dispel magic.
- You cannot be targeted by any cantrips, and you are resistant to damage from spells.
You can store it in the grimoire it came from, and draw it from the grimoire too. While you draw, stow, or wield the sword, the grimoire floats beside you, and nothing can stop it floating unless the sword is stowed inside it, when it harmlessly stows itself away. You can draw the grimoire at the same time as drawing or stowing the sword.
Proficiency with a Greatsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
