This Longbow is fashioned from a gnarled branch of a treant, the magic infused into it has grown from the defenses the treant naturally developed to prevent infection. Ammunition fired from this bow is magical for the purposes of overcoming resistance. When a player lands a hit with this bow, the target must make a DC 12 CON save, taking 2d4 acid damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. This damage can only be dealt once per round.
Proficiency with a Longbow allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
Notes: Damage: Acid, Combat, Ammunition, Heavy, Range, Two-Handed, Slow

Posted Oct 18, 20192d4 seems a little low on top of a low DC save-or-half, but maybe that's appropriate for an uncommon item.

Posted Oct 19, 2019Yeah, I was looking to create something useful for a new - low tier bow user. I made the damage based off of the spell acid arrow. Considering regular bow damage is 1d8+dex, that probably stays roughly close to average 4d4 damage of the acid arrow spell; especially once you can start shooting extra shots a round. The extra 2d4 is then the other half of the spell's damage. I didn't want to have it occurring at full strength every round, so the lower DC is to limit the power in that way. Thank you for your feed back though! I have yet to play test with this item myself, and I'll be sure to adjust the strength if it feels under-powered. If you decide to use it let me know as well, I am always looking to improve my ideas with good feedback!
