These rare armors are made from the hide of some variation of creature with natural fire resistance (salamander, hell hound, fire mephit, etc). The armor acts as studded leather +2 to AC, and grants the wearer fire resistance.
Made from tough but flexible leather, studded leather is reinforced with close-set rivets or spikes.
