Wondrous Item, very rare

This is a pair of matching earrings made from pure platinum. Each piece depicts an owl in flight. The owls' eyes are set with pieces of golden diamonds that sparkle in the light, while the individual feathers on each are painted in exquisite fine detail with a transparent, amber-hued enamel. The bright white of the platinum shines on the edges of the feathers, sparkling when in bright light. A sturdy, curved hook is attached to the back of each owl, concealed from sight when the earrings are worn. Each owl is 1/2 inch tall with 1 inch wingspan. The tails are heavier than the heads, helping to keep the owls positioned properly as the wearer moves.

These earrings were created by a skilled jeweler before being refined and painted by the hands of a pixie. They were given as a gift to Belthinia Amberwing, a druid who spent her later years protecting a pristine coastal forest from encroachment by a rapidly growing port town. Even now, nearly a century after the passing of Belthinia, paintings, and graffiti litter the port town depicting golden-eyed owls and warn people against taking anything from the nearby forest.

If you are a Druid, wearing these earrings increases your Wisdom by score by 1 and gives you an additional 1d4 to perception checks made with sight.
