This odd engine is shaped like a backpack with two straps so one may wear it like a pack, on the opposing side of the straps the item appears to have a mouth made of steel and two small eyes engraved into it that seem rather angry. At the top one may notice a metal loop that when pulled causes the engine to make a slight rumble. Seems it needs some sort of fuel before it can really turn on.
While attuned to the item you gain the following:
Arcane Consumption: As a reaction whenever you are targeted with a spell you can instead have the engine consume the spell converting it into an amount of fuel charges equal to the spells level, cantrips are unaffected by this as the engine itself deems them unfit for consumption, if you wish to do this with an area of effect spell you must be within 5ft of the point where the effect originates
Fuel Limit: The arcane engine can only hold so many charges of fuel, while you should refrain from going over 9 (see overload for more details) the engine can only hold a maximum of 14, going over this will cause the engine to self destruct which will deal 4d6 force damage to the person attuned to this item and leaves them stunned for 1 turn
Ignition: As a bonus action on your turn you may consume a minimum of three charges to turn on the engine which gives you the benefit of the haste spell, which lasts for an extra 20 seconds for every charge over 3. You also may add your characters intelligence, wisdom, or charisma modifier to your strength (your choice). All charges are consumed when it is activated and you cannot use arcane consumption while Ignition is active.
Overload: If you go over 9 charges and activate the engine roll for an effect from the sorcerer wild magic table, if you roll a 99-100 and do not have access to sorcery points you may instead use the create spell slot function provided by meta magic to make one spell slot of your choice as if you were a sorcerer of your current level.
Targeting The Engine: The engine has an armor class of 18 and a hit point total equal to five times your level. If it needs to make a saving throw treat all it's ability scores as a 10, the engine is immune to poison and psychic damage, and if the mending spell is casted on it restore 2d6 hp
Extra Notes: When targeted with a multi-hit spell like magic missile or scorching ray, you still gain charges equal to the spells level regardless of amount of projectiles consumed. You cannot use arcane consumption as a replacement for the feature of the interception or protection fighting style or the sentinel feat. You can use arcane consumption if you are mounted and have the mounted combatant feat when your mount is attacked. When using arcane consumption on a smite you only remove the extra damage and effects granted by the smite spell, the weapon still attacks you and does damage.
Notes: Must be wearing a suit of Arcane Armor or magical heavy armor

Posted Jul 10, 2024I'm not going to make anymore changes to this thing so feel free to make your own versions with your own changes and feel free to post it, I just wanted to throw a cool idea out there even if I never get to use it in any of my own adventures.
