An enchanted chain shirt made from Baatorian Green Steel, forged in the hellish caldera of Abriymoch. The shirt is expertly crafted, extending well below the knees to provide exceptional coverage. Despite its length, the shirt is uncannily light, weighing no more than a robe of similar size and bulk. The fires of Phlegethos have imbued the shirt with a natural resistance to fire.

This particular shirt belonged to Nis'lak'mal, a gelugon necromancer and Stygian field commander. It enchanted the shirt with dark defensive magics that lash out at adversaries when attacked. Once per long rest, the wearer may cast Blight on their attacker as a reaction to taking damage.

Made of interlocking metal rings, a chain shirt is worn between layers of clothing or leather. This armor offers modest protection to the wearer's upper body and allows the sound of the rings rubbing against one another to be muffled by outer layers.
