Weapon (glaive), legendary (requires attunement by a Spellcaster proficient with glaives)

You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon.  This weapon can function as an spellcasting focus.  While holding it, you also gain a +3 bonus to your spell save DC, spell attack rolls, and spell damage rolls.  Additionally, you gain the ability to cast the chill touch cantrip.

When you reduce a creature within 60 feet of you to 0 hit points with an attack or spell using this weapon, you can use your reaction to capture the creature's soul, trapping it within the weapon.  This property does not work on constructs or any creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or less. Each soul the weapon captures provides it with 5 charges.  This weapon can hold up to 30 charges.  If capturing a soul would increase the weapon's number of charges above 30, any excess charges are lost.

Reap Life. As a bonus action, you can expend 1 charge to regain 2d8 hit points.

Borrow Experience. As a bonus action you can expend 1 charge to make your next attack roll, ability check, or saving throw with advantage. If you don’t use this benefit before the start of your next turn, it is lost.

Power Strike. When you hit with a melee attack using the staff, you can expend 1 charge to deal an extra 1d6 necrotic damage to the target.

Spells. While holding this weapon, you can use an action to expend 1 or more of its charges to cast one of the following spells from it, using your spell save DC and spell attack bonus: animate dead (3 charges), bestow curse (3 charges), blight (4 charges), blindness/deafness (2 charges), circle of death (6 charges), contagion (5 charges), create undead (6 charges), etherealness (7 charges), eyebite (6 charges), false life (1 charge), fear (3 charges), finger of death (7 charges), harm (6 charges), inflict wounds (1 charge), plane shift (7 charges), ray of enfeeblement (2 charges), speak with dead (3 charges), vampiric touch (3 charges).

For the listed number of charges, you cast the lowest level version of a spell cast from this weapon. You can increase the spell slot level by one for each additional charge you expend.  If a spell's casting time is longer than 1 action, it's casting time becomes 1 action when cast from this weapon.

Proficiency with a Glaive allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.


This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.

Graze. If your attack roll with this weapon misses a creature, you can deal damage to that creature equal to the ability modifier you used to make the attack roll. This damage is the same type dealt by the weapon, and the damage can be increased only by increasing the ability modifier.
