Created by the legendary inventor Arabella Kohl, known for her 'Kohl Stones,' this was one of her early inventions and use cases for her magical stones. The shield rotates around the user, providing a magical barrier that deflects incoming attacks.
Shield of Protection (1/day). When you activate this shield as a bonus action, it begins to rotate around you. For the next minute, you gain a +2 bonus to AC and advantage on Dexterity saving throws caused by spells.
While Shield of Protection is active, you gain access to the following abilities, each usable once per activation:
Deflecting Barrier. As a reaction to being hit by an attack, you can activate the shield to deflect the attack. You gain resistance to all damage from that attack.
Arcane Aegis. When you are targeted by a spell, you can use your reaction to cause the shield to absorb the spell. The shield can absorb a spell of 3rd level or lower. The absorbed spell is stored in the shield and can be cast by you once within the next 8 hours using the shield as the spellcasting focus.
