Wondrous Item, artifact

A small orb shaped artefact, once activated via the command word, it begins to hum with power, shaking as the orb expands to a 15ft sphere, taking 10 minutes to power up. Once powered up the enchanter appears as a 15ft sphere of ethereal arcane energy. Translucent screens appear, slots for a schematics, components and energy respectively. The machine quarters the time it takes to enchant an item. {Eg. Flame Tongue - Normally taking 2 days to enchant, the enchanter will make a flame tongue in 12hrs.}

Schematics. To enchant a magic item, the device requires a schematic. The schematic shows which components are required. {Generally 3-5 components, depending on rarity.} If the components are incorrectly placed, roll a d20, on a 1 the device explodes dealing 10d10 force damage in a 30ft radius, otherwise it spits out the components, still consuming energy. {If you know which components are required, you may spend 1hr drafting a schematic. This requires an Intelligence check - DC = to 12 common, 18 rare, 23 very rare, 28 legendary.}

Power. To power the device, spell slots must be expended. For each hour of enchanting required, 1 spell slot must be expended. {Eg. Flame Tongue - 12hrs requires 12 levels of spell slots

  1. Common, 2 components, 1hr
  2. Uncommon, 2-3 components, 3hrs
  3. Rare, 3 components, 6hrs
  4. Very Rare, 4-5 components, 12hrs
  5. Legendary, 5 components, 24hrs
