Description: This tiny gold figurine emits a faint warm glow, with slightly glowing, incorporeal golden flakes swirling slowly and playfully around it. This item allows you to connect your physical reality with another person's through an otherworldly source of mystical energy known as the dreamscape, enabling the user to draw on this energy and influence the surroundings.
Usage:
- As an action, expend one charge to evoke a dreamscape bridge, blurring the lines between the physical world and the dream world. This functions in both ways. You can either connect your own dreamscape and tie it to another physical being within 30 feet of your presence. Or, if you are within a shared dreamscape (e.g., via the dream spell), connect the physical reality to another being within 30 feet (either physically or within the dreamscape).
- You can expend three charges to extend the effect to all characters within a 30-foot diameter circle that includes you.
- The user can willingly end the connection as a bonus action or reaction.
Effect:
- Connected characters interact as if in the physical world, using their abilities and equipment (in the dreamscape they can use equipment within 30 feet of their physical presence).
- All damage dealt under the connection becomes psychic damage. Characters reduced to 0 hit points by this psychic damage become unconscious but stable. If a character falls unconscious, they receive one level of exhaustion, and they leave the dreamscape bridge connection. Other effects and conditions received in the dreamscape end when the dreamscape bridge.
- Each character can transfer one tiny object (up to one pound) originating from one physical reality to the other through the dreamscape, either willingly, or unwillingly through a grapple contest or sleight of hand.
- While the dreamscape bridge is active, the user gains a advantage on ability checks and saving throws.
Additional Details:
- Once the bond is established, you can move freely without breaking the connection.
- An unwilling target can prevent the connection with a successful WIS save against your spellcasting DC. Creatures that do not dream are immune to the effect.
- If you have a body part, lock of hair, clipping from a nail, or similar portion of the target's body, the target makes its saving throw with disadvantage.
Rarity: This is a rare item in Eberron or the Feywild and very rare elsewhere.
Notes: Advantage: Ability Checks, Advantage: Saving Throws, Attunement requires two steps. First, cast either encode thoughts, detect thoughts, modify memory, or use telepathy to connect to the Oneiromancer's Bridge. Second, after establishing the connection, a night of sleep and dreaming is needed to stabilize the bond.
