This sleek, elegant armblade attaches seamlessly to your forearm, becoming an inseparable part of you while attuned. To attune to this item, you must hold it against your forearm for the entire attunement period.
Weapon Properties:
- Retractable Blade: As a bonus action, you can retract the armblade into your forearm or extend it from there. While extended, you can use the armblade as if you were holding it in your hand, and you can’t use that hand for other purposes.
Driftglobe Abilities:
-
Illuminating Light: While attuned to the Armblade of Illumination, you can speak a command word to cause the armblade to emanate bright light in a 60-foot radius and dim light for an additional 60 feet. This effect is equivalent to the daylight spell. Once used, the daylight effect can't be used again until the next dawn.
-
Floating Globe: You can speak another command word as an action to make the armblade rise into the air and float no more than 5 feet off the ground. The armblade hovers in this way until you or another creature grasp it. If you move more than 60 feet from the hovering armblade, it follows you until it is within 60 feet of you. If prevented from moving, it sinks gently to the ground and becomes inactive, with its light winking out.
-
Blinding Defense: When you are attacked by a creature within 30 feet of you that you can see, you can use your reaction to impose disadvantage on the attack roll. A blinding white flame erupts from the embedded driftglobe in the armblade. An attacker that can’t be blinded is immune to this property. You can use this property once, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
Proficiency with a Rapier allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: Wondrous Item (armblade), uncommon (requires attunement), Damage, Combat, Finesse, Vex
