This simple metal wire has a short wooden hand grip at either end. There are small inked symbols along one handle that read: "Silence, forever." in Thieves' Cant. All attacks with this weapon are at disadvantage unless your target is surprised.
Whenever you hit a target that is no more than one size category larger than yourself with this weapon it is immediately restrained and begins suffocating. A suffocating creature can survive a number of rounds equal to 1 + their Constitution modifier (minimum 1) before they drop to 0 hp and begin dying. While suffocating the creature has disadvantage on Strength checks and saving throws. A restrained creature can make a Strength (Athletics) check contested by your own to escape.
Proficiency with a Whip allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Slow. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to it, you can reduce its Speed by 10 feet until the start of your next turn. If the creature is hit more than once by weapons that have this property, the Speed reduction doesn’t exceed 10 feet.
