This exquisitely crafted pistol harnesses the power of magic and blood. Unlike conventional firearms, the Arcane Revolver requires no ammunition. Instead, its hilt contains a series of enchanted needles that draw a small amount of blood from the wielder's hand to fuel its arcane energy.
The revolver features a rotating chamber that aligns with different elemental infusions. As the chamber spins, the pistol can channel various magical energies, allowing it to deal a range of elemental damage. Depending on which chamber aligns with the firing mechanism, the Arcane Revolver can unleash:
- Lightning: Crackling bolts of electricity.
- Radiant: Blinding flashes of divine light.
- Poison: Toxic, corrosive bursts.
- Fire: Searing flames.
- Cold: Freezing blasts of icy cold.
When you make a successful attack with the Arcane Revolver, it deals 2d10 piercing damage plus an additional 2d4 damage of the elemental type currently active. The element is determined by the chamber alignment at the time of firing.
Critical Failure: If you roll a natural 1 on your attack roll, the revolver misfires spectacularly. The weapon jams and backfires, dealing 1d10 fire damage to you as a result of the malfunction.
It’s up to you to decide whether a character has proficiency with a firearm. Characters in most D&D worlds wouldn’t have such proficiency. During their downtime, characters can use the training rules in the Player’s Handbook to acquire proficiency, assuming that they have enough ammunition to keep the weapons working while mastering their use.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Vex. If you hit a creature with this weapon and deal damage to the creature, you have Advantage on your next attack roll against that creature before the end of your next turn.
Notes: To attune to the Arcane Revolver, you must spend a short rest with the weapon, focusing on its intricate engravings and feeling the pulse of magic within it. During this time, you must also draw a small amount of your own blood to bond with the pistol., Range, Ammunition (Firearms), Reload, Vex
