An Internal Memo from the Oasis Center Legal Department: The Amulet of the Aeronaut is a lawsuit waiting to happen. This amulet contains within it a fully functional self filling hot air balloon. Sound fun, right? WRONG! While this balloon is capable of carrying up to 6 people safely, adding a 7th causes the balloon to SNAP back into the amulet along with all its passengers. In addition, once up in the sky there really is no way to control the direction the balloon flies. Some might say the lack of control is what makes a hot air balloon so much fun, but we in the Legal Department know better. Unless the Research and Development Team can somehow include a magical waiver that gets signed by all the passengers BEFORE the amulet allows the balloon to escape, then by our authority we request that the Amulet of the Aeronaut be placed in the Vault indefinitely.
While wearing this amulet you can cast the spell [spell]Feather Fall[spell] at will without spending a spell slot or the need for material components. You also are always aware of the time of day and what the weather is like outside, including the wind direction.
Once per day as a action you may speak a command word to activate the amulet. Upon doing so a 20 foot tall hot air balloon and basket unfold out of the amulet in the closest available unoccupied space. The hot air balloon can carry up to 1000 lbs or a maximum of 6 people. Conversely, you may speak the command word again to cause the hot air balloon to deflate and fold itself and its basket back into the amulet, along with any materials that remained in basket, for safe keeping. If the weight or number of passenger exceeds its maximum that hot air balloon deflates and folds itself and its basket back into the amulet. Any creatures or objects still in the basket when this occurs are dealt 10d6 force damage and are pushed to the nearest unoccupied space. If this damage was enough to bring a creature to 0 hit points that creature is sucked into the amulet along with the hot air balloon and dies from being crushed to death.
