This amulet is made from polished bone and inscribed with necromantic runes. While wearing this amulet, the wearer gains the ability to summon a single skeleton that grows stronger as the wearer gains levels.
Summon Skeletal Guardian. As an action, the wearer can use the amulet to summon a Skeletal Guardian. The summoned skeleton is more powerful than a typical skeleton and scales with the wearer's level. The skeleton remains until it is dismissed as an action, is defeated, or the wearer finishes a long rest. If the skeleton is defeated, the amulet cannot be used again until the next sunrise.

Bone Shield. As a reaction when the wearer is hit by an attack, they can instantly summon the Skeletal Guardian to intercept the blow. The skeleton appears adjacent to the wearer and takes the damage from the attack instead. After absorbing the attack, the skeleton remains in combat. This feature can be used once per day and resets at dawn.
Unsummoning Penalty. If the wearer chooses to dismiss the skeleton as an action, they must succeed on a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or take 1d6 necrotic damage and have their maximum hit points reduced by the same amount until they finish a long rest. If the skeleton is defeated in combat, the amulet cannot be used to summon it again until the next sunrise.
