Ary’Faern’Kerym is a +3 longsword that grants the following properties:
You have +2 to your AC as long as you hold the sword.
Keen: Critical hits occur with this sword when you make an attack and roll 19 or 20.
- Arcane Enhancement: The wielder gains a +2 bonus to spell attack rolls and spell save DCs. Additionally, the blade can be used as a spellcasting focus.
-
Arcane Shield: As a reaction, the wielder can cast Shield without expending a spell slot. This ability can be used a number of times equal to the wielder’s Intelligence modifier (minimum of once) and recharges on a long rest.
- Spellstrike: Once per day, when the wielder hits with an attack using Ary’Faern’Kerym, they can immediately cast a spell they know of 5th level or lower that targets the creature hit by the attack, using the blade as a conduit. The spell does not consume a spell slot.
- Spell Channeling: The wielder can store a spell of 5th level or lower within the blade. When an enemy is hit by the blade, the stored spell can be released as part of the attack. The spell remains stored until it is used or a new spell is stored.
- Sentience: Ary’Faern’Kerym is a sentient weapon with an Intelligence of 20, Wisdom of 16, and Charisma of 14. It communicates telepathically with its wielder, speaks Elvish and Common, and has a Neutral alignment. It seeks out wielders who can master both blade and magic.
When Drawing this blade for the first time, you must speak an oath to defend all elves and name every elven god. Should you err or falter, or be not of good alignment, roll a WIS saving throw DC 30. On a fail, you die. On a success the weapon dematerializes from your hand and reappears onto a nearby surface.
The blade appears as if made of darkness, and its shape is a tangible black void, outlined in a crimson streak which is the source of the blade's light. It crackles like lightning when drawn, and creates a sharp buzzing sound when swung, like that of an angry bee. Oddly, when the blade strikes a foe, there is no sound from the hit, despite the strength behind it. An elven rune near the pommel signifies a thing of magic.
Proficiency with a Longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
This weapon has the following mastery property. To use this property, you must have a feature that lets you use it.
Sap. If you hit a creature with this weapon, that creature has Disadvantage on its next attack roll before the start of your next turn.
Notes: Bonus: Magic, Elf or Half-Elf, Damage, Combat, Versatile, Sap
